Zurück zu meiner Afrikareise. Es hat 11 Tage gedauert, bis wir die ersten Löwen zu sehen bekamen, aber diese Begegnungen waren einzigartig. Hier abgebildet sind Nachfahren von Cecil, dem unglücklichen Löwen, der im Juli 2015 einem amerikanischen Trophäenjäger zum Opfer fiel. Zweieinhalb Jahre zuvor hatten wir hier das Glück den Löwen Humba zu sehen. Den gibt's immer noch, aber er ist umgezogen.

Im Hintergrund ist Mankomo. die Chefin des Rudels. Sie hat drei Junge, von denen hier zwei mit ihrem älteren Bruder spielen wollen. Der ist aber nicht begeistert.

Back to my African travels. It wasn't before 11 days that we saw the first lions on this trip, but these encounters were remarkable. This picture and the ones that follow show descendants of Cecil, the hapless lion that fell victim to an American trophy hunter in July 2015. Two and a half years ago we were lucky to see Humba here. He's still alive, but he has moved to a different neighborhood.

In the background is Mankomo, the matriarch of Cecil's pride. She has three young cubs, two of which want to play with their slightly older brother, but he isn't amused.
