Über mich
For the most part, I'm a self taught "part time professional" photographer. I am a 49 year old husband and father of two. I suppliment my forty hour job by shooting weddings, events, and family portraits.
I began shooting with a 35mm Yashica TL Electro when I was 13 years old. My brother handed me this camera and said "it has too many damn numbers on it"! After a few years, a Life photographer named Bernard Hoffman had a workshop at his home teaching black and white photography, film processing, and printing. This was when I became really hooked on photography.
Over the years I've attended workshops and college courses encompassing all avenues of photography. From the 35mm film world, I moved into medium format wedding work. After watching my assistant shoot her Canon 20D at a recent wedding and then seeing the results, I sold my medium format equipment and now shoot digital weddings.
Nature... animals, birds, insects, flowers, plants, and scenics are what really interest me. If I could only figure out how to support a family taking pictures of bugs... :)
Preferred music - Pat Metheny, Rolling Stones, Larry Carlton, Grateful Dead, Joe Sample, Pink Floyd, Lee Rittenour, Hot Tuna, Rippingtons, Mark Knopfler, Acoustic Alchemy, Stevie Ray Vaughan, David Sanbourn, Crosby,Stills, Nash & Young, Humble Pie, Bob Dylan, etc. Nothing goes with a camera better than an iPod!

Hi Randy, you are absolutely right. I think the movie was named “STAR WARS-The Next Generation”. I have heard that the first STAR WARS movie was the origin of Photoshop, but I don’t know if it is true or a rumor. Thank you for your nice comment. :)Cheers Atle.

so anyway, hi again. i've been horribly rude in not returning emails and such, so i apologize that i was remiss in more thoughtful commentary on your tea cups. i see you've gone on despite the crushing blow THAT must've been. haha! a hearty man you are indeed. so here's the story, i changed my profile pic a while back and then i was reading through comments and saw your 'holy hand grenade to lob at killer rabbits' silliness and had to change it back to the snowbound coconut shell cocktail drinkin' during a blizzard photo stunt i did one day out of sheer wisconsin winter boredom and a poorly lost bet. and so it goes... i see your obsession with ipods...yaya! i just got a pink ipod shuffle today...now ain't that just the cutest little gigabyte of clip on fun?! so now it's charged and i can drift away peacefully with my new hair accessory or wherever the heck it'll clip.long-winded cheers to you and yours from wisconsin!

Alien creatures? You might find it curious that AcutoLaterale was taken in a location known for unexplained metaphysical activity. A Pomo Indian burial ground. I get mired in the energy whenever I go there. It's difficult to leave there are so many stories whispered in the winds....Thanks for your visit...are you a fan of Jesse Cook's guitar work?
Warm regards,
Robyn

Hi Randy,Thanks for taking the time to look at comment on Perfect Grace. The bird was located with many others on the spillway of Whiterock Dam in Texas. They were fishing. The spillway is constructed in a series of steps that aerates the water as it tumbles down. I wanted a slow enough shutter speed to give the water an illustrative quality, but quick enough to capture the bird crisply.
Again, thanks for looking and have a wonderful New Year!
Robyn

As a novice photographer I am very honored that my photo "Peek a Boo" got your attention. Thank you so much for your wonderful comments. She worked actually far cheaper than peanuts- she worked for bird seed- nothing better than a cheap date.
Giving you a big holler "YO!" You are very close to my hometown- Brooklyn NY.
Thanks again Randy - Regards and Good Luck, Molly

in french we say, "Quand on aime , on ne compte pas",=when loving, don't count..
specially hours ( you're right) spent on a collage.. but as long as there is inspiration and no bug, it's nice like a brodery.. cheers Véronique

Randy,I saw your questions about FC in the text forums and am glad to see that you are still here. It gets addictive. (like your photo of the same name) There is as much to learn from the pros as there is from the newcomers. I like your work...
Cheers from your neighbour to the north.
