It's been so cold here today, water has stayed frozen all day long but it was bright and sunny.

Just like here, freezing while sunny!
The ice patterns are great. Some are glassy and some icy :))) ---> and then the difference is that the icy one is much more harder than the glassy one! Even you can walk on that ! A theory of mine ;-))
Dear Sally, your photo reminds me of my childood! When I liked the sound of breaking these puddle patterns very much. In winters, I almost every day broke all the puddle patterns in my way to school ! :)

it's beautiful, sally! love the strangely shaped "bubbles" the "liquid remains" of the water created, while freezing in the ice! i'm imaginging that squeaky, screechy sound – two meringues rubbed against each other! ; ))) – the ice will make when stepped upon! great capture of the pretty if not perpetual puddle pattern – i do love the alliteration in your title! ; ))) hugs, sabine.

This is great, Sally - fascinating like a landscape taken from a plane high up in the air ... what fantastic patterns ice and bubbles and cracks make embedded in this frozen earth. Well seen, well captured from this angle. Hope you thaw out soon and get some Vancouver weather :-))))
